ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Virginia Union Panthers remained undefeated in the CIAA Eastern Division with a 56-43 win over Elizabeth City State University Monday night at the RL Vaughan Center.
 
With the win the Panthers (15-6, CIAA 12-4) move to 4-0 against Eastern Division opponents. Braxton Byerson led the way for the Panthers with a game high 17 points off the bench.

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The CIAA double header between Virginia Union University and Elizabeth City State University has been rescheduled for Monday, February 1st at the RL Vaughan Center.

 

The game has been postponed due to pending inclement weather that will affect the region beginning Friday night. The contests, which were originally slated for Saturday, will tip off at 5:30pm (women) and 7:30pm (men) on Monday

Hartly, DE - The Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN) has announced their 2009 All-American Division I-FCS and Division II teams.  The team is comprised of student athletes from the nation's Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).  The team and coach of the year are selected by the HSRN production staff.
The HSRN National Players of the Year - were selected by the fan poll that has become a weekly icon with the sports coverage of the athletic year in football.  The football National Players of the Year are Prairie View's K.J. Black (QB) and Tuskegee's Justin Hannah (DB).  The National Coach of the Year is Prairie View's Henry Frazier, who guided the Panthers to their first SWAC Championship since the 1960's.
